Not So Cool
This outfit is about as cool and easy going as it gets with me. With my continuous journey in therapy has come many revelations about myself. Like for example I, Alexis Griggs, am not an easy-going cool girl. I’m not a go with the flow type of person. I don’t care much for surprises and I’m not spontaneous. I like structure. I like planning things out and having to-do lists. I’m not down-to-earth and, in fact, my head is frequently in the clouds. I’ve spent most of my life trying to convince myself and everyone else that I can be this easy-going, down-to-earth, and spontaneous person that I’m just not. I am intense, passionate, and straightforward. All of this is to remind myself that it’s okay.
Now unlike my uncool demeanor, this outfit is effortlessly cool. In it, I’m wearing this Grecerelle Casual Loose Pocket Long Dress Short Sleeve Split Maxi Dresses from Amazon that I bought last year after seeing my friend Ana rave about and wear it on her blog and Instagram. I bout mine in an XL and while I could’ve sized up for a looser fit, I find myself gravitating towards more fitted clothing nowadays. I kept this look as cool and casual as possible and wore my trusty Universal Thread Crista Studded Pointed Toe Heeled Mules from Target. For accessories, I wore my $1 leopard print sunglasses, my custom made agate earrings from Vern’s Valuables, and my Tommy Hilfiger backpack that I thrifted last year from Plato’s Closet. Last but not least, can we talk about this denim jacket? It’s actually not mine which I’m sure you immediately could tell from the Slytherin patch. Team Hufflepuff! It’s my brother Aarron’s and it's incredible. It truly is a work of art. He individually ironed and sewed on each patch and pin most of which he found at Hot Topic. Thank you for allowing me to borrow it for this look!
